Lithology and Thickness
Clayey limestone. Brownish weathering limestone and grey sandy shale. Singh (2009/Raju chart) description: Formation is 20-30 m thick; and is comparable to Fenestella Shale of Kashmire. Black carbonaceous shales interbedded with subordinate black limestones that has yielded Middle Carboniferous fossil assemblage.

Lower contact
Conformable contact with the Kali Fm.
Upper contact
Sharp upper contact with the Girthi Fm.
